Fleet Manager
Do you have the drive to steer our small fleet of company vehicles?
Pebbles is on the lookout for a skilled Fleet Manager to join our organisation and apply your expertise, while taking the lead and ensuring that our small fleet of domestic vehicles is roadworthy and maintained accordingly. Your role will be home-based with occasional travel to meetings and our homes across the UK. Our cars are essential to enable Pebbles to care for our children and transport them to activities, school, and appointments.
Your role
- Strategic Fleet Management – develop and implement strategies for the efficient operation and maintenance of our domestic fleet of cars, which are located at our 56 homes and 3 schools throughout the UK.
- Maintenance – ensure that all vehicles are regularly serviced, inspected, and maintained to ensure they are roadworthy. Oversee that regular staff vehicle safety checks are completed.
- Budget Management – Monitor and control fleet-related expenditure.
- Compliance and Safety – Keep up to date with all industry regulations and safety measures and ensure that all safety measures are implemented to provide the highest standards of safety for our children and employees. Ensure that necessary compliance checks are completed for all employees who will have access to our fleet vehicles.
- Analyse fleet data – track all fleet data, including investigations into misuse and accidents. Provide an analysis and report back to our Care Operations team, with your recommendations for improvements or enforcements.
- External agency relationships – Maintain and improve current relationships with insurers and external vendors such as garages and part suppliers.
What Pebbles offer you
- A salary of £35,000.00 per annum
- Hours of work are forty per week.

Essential qualities we look for
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a fleet or similar logistics role.
- A full, manual, UK driving licence.
- Be the holder of a recognised fleet management qualification or be able to demonstrate experience in the management of a vehicle fleet across a wide area.
- Previous experience in developing and managing fleet vehicles, to include purchasing, maintenance and resale.
- Good knowledge of vehicle repairs and assessing vehicle condition, repair costs, and the vehicle second-hand market.
- Competent in all Microsoft applications, including Excel.
- Initiative-taking nature
- Good critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Availability to travel throughout the UK, as and when required.
- Knowledge of Road transportation laws
- Must be knowledgeable in all current relevant legislation and processes.
- Ability to work accurately, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable qualities we look for
- Knowledge of fleet management software (Radius Velocity) is an advantage but not essential.
