Overview
The Fluid System Technical Lead will primarily support the Hinkley Point C project, with potential involvement in the Sizewell C project. Based in Bristol, the role involves collaboration with experts from Edvance France and other EPR-E discipline departments.
Responsibilities
Support preparation of Systems Design Manuals and design system components, including P&IDs and thermal-hydraulic calculations.
Support population and management of process databases (prioritising implementations, monitoring the implementation progress, performing technical checks on data consistency).
Oversee configuration management and modifications for the delegated scope.
Provide technical oversight and advice to system engineers, ensuring quality and adherence to milestones.
Manage supplier feedback impacting system design and ensure compliance with UK legislation and best practices.
Represent the Systems department in technical forums.
Drive continuous improvement within the systems team through the use of Nuclear Professionalism and Error Reduction Tools.
Qualifications
Essential
Mechanical or Process Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Relevant experience in the nuclear industry.
Experience effectively managing own and team’s workload to respect deadlines.
Proficient communication skills in English, both written and oral.
Proactive and confident communicator, especially with remote offices in France and Germany.
Proactive in developing positive working relations within the project.
Desirable
Knowledge in EPR system design sequences, Instrumentation & Control or Safety Classification sequences.
Experience in managing transverse technical and contractual topics.
Ability to prioritise, manage numerous interfaces, and understand the imperatives of other downstream disciplines.
Knowledge of fluid systems or equipment.
Knowledge of UK licensing requirements and its application within a nuclear project.
Languages
French – bonus.
