Job Overview

As the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst, you are not just a number-cruncher; you are a strategic thinker and catalyst for commercial excellence. Your role will involve delivering insightful commercial reporting and data-driven recommendations that shape the future of our diverse fragrance portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Finance, your expertise will be pivotal in driving both financial and operational improvements across multiple brands and markets.

This is a hybrid role that requires working 4 days from our office in Watford and 1 day from home.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with the Commercial Team to maximize profitable sales, monitor P&L performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Bespoke Analysis: Provide tailored analysis, investment appraisals, and business case recommendations to guide key commercial decisions.
  • Budget Management: Lead expense tracking with a focus on internal controls and ROI, ensuring accurate allocation of investments in partnership with the Accounting Team.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to create actionable reports that inform trading decisions and optimize performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to refine analytics tools and methodologies, driving better business insights.
  • License Reporting: Monitor and provide analytics support for License contract compliance, specifically focusing on royalty arrangements

  • Relevant Experience: Significant experience in a similar role within a retail or FMCG environment.
  • Agility & Pace: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile working environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy with a deep understanding of financial data.

Qualifications and Experience

  • CIMA Qualified - Finalists or QBE will be considered
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI applications is a plus
