The Role
To support the FP&A Manager with the annual budgeting process for consolidated Group and local practice targets. To analyse key P/L trends and work closely with the Finance Business Partners (FBPs) to provide timely management information. To assist in providing a storyboard for commentary in monthly reporting packs.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Support the FP&A manager with the annual budgeting process, specifically with the Group submission and then the local practice budgets. Work closely with the FBP and Operational team to ensure budgets are challenging and achievable.
- Assist with the submission of monthly budgeting and forecast results to Group.
- Support in the preparation of the Latest Forecast, understanding run rates, seasonality impacts, known variables, risks, and opportunities to track performance and meet business objectives.
- Prepare commentary for reporting packs that tell an accurate story of business performance, success areas, and focus points.
- Collaborate with FBP’s to produce meaningful management information to investigate trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Represent finance in business-wide strategic projects.
- Support with ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications/Experience
- Qualified/Part Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/AAT).
- Experience using Hyperion/Oracle Financial Planning.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including modelling and pivot tables.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain finance concepts to non-finance colleagues and build strong relationships.
- Excellent storytelling skills and ability to produce high-quality management packs for senior management meetings.
