Freelance Senior Production Project Manager

We seek a confident, fast, and highly organized Freelance Senior Production Project Manager to manage world-class production from our London headquarters and deliver the show-stopping storytelling we are famous for.

Reporting into an Associate Project Director, you will be part of our Project Management Team, working in a challenging, exciting and creative environment. You will have the opportunity to work with great brands on exciting projects, including windows, permanent retail spaces and pop ups; driving planning and organisation across the Production team and bringing projects to life in our on-site workshop within a short timeframe. Working closely with our Production team you will be responsible for project progress, timelines, budgets and margins, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Project progress tracking, timelines, budgets and margins to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, objectives, timelines, quotes and resource allocation
  • Oversee all project details from start to finish, including logistics
  • Maintain regular and transparent client communications, lead client calls/meetings, and manage changes professionally
  • Build and provide cost estimates and client-facing quotes; provide financial status and forecasts
  • Collaborate with Production teams and across the business to meet client needs and uphold high standards
  • Manage external supplier relationships to outsource production when needed
  • Quality control to ensure high standards of execution in workshop and on site
  • Plan and execute installations in the UK and overseas
  • Create and manage multiple project schedules, identify roadblocks and implement solutions
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, status updates and client correspondence

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role, managing production for windows, permanent retail spaces and pop ups
  • Excellent experience working with in-house and outsourced production teams
  • Seasoned industry professional with varied client-facing experience
  • Strong understanding of retail, brand experience and production processes
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel and Google Sheets; Synergist is a plus
  • Experienced and capable in financial management of projects: setup, tracking and billing
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently
  • Excellent communication and client-servicing skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Leadership qualities and a hunger to deliver outstanding results

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: develop comprehensive project plans for multiple projects, including scope, objectives, timelines, quotes, and resource allocation
  • Client Communication: maintain regular, transparent communication with clients and the production team; organise and lead client calls and meetings
  • Budget Management: manage project budgets, track expenses, provide cost estimates and client-facing quotes, and share financial status with clients and internally
  • Internal Collaboration: coordinate with Production team and across the business to meet client needs and uphold standards
  • Supplier Relationships: manage and grow external supplier relationships for outsourced production
  • Quality Control: ensure high standards of execution in workshop and on site
  • Installations: plan and execute installations in the UK and overseas
  • Timeline Management: create and manage schedules, meet deadlines, and address roadblocks
  • Documentation: maintain project documentation and client correspondence

Benefits

  • Day Rate: £300-£400 per day; please state expectations on application
  • Location: Hybrid model; 3 days/week from East London studio and 2 flexible days. Normal hours 9am–6pm with flexible hours available
