Overview

This is a training and placement programme designed for individuals with none or limited programming experience who want to start a career in programming, web development or related roles. The programme includes industry-recognised certifications, CV and LinkedIn profile development, and a portfolio to demonstrate skills to potential employers. Fees apply. Training times may be reduced if more time is available each week.

Stage 1 – Learn HTML and CSS

The first step is completing a selection of professional and industry-recognised courses. We have carefully selected these courses to maximise learning and employment outcomes.

• HTML Essentials (up to 6 weeks)
• CSS Essentials (up to 6 weeks)

Training is delivered through multimedia video tutorials, presentations and quizzes via an online portal. You will be assigned an expert tutor and a support mentor for 1-2-1 or group sessions to provide training and support. After completing HTML & CSS, your trainer will move you forward to the next stage.

Stage 2 – Additional Online Training

The second step includes more advanced courses to prepare you for typical entry-level programming roles and give you a competitive edge.

• Learn the Command Line (1.5 weeks)
• Learn Git & GitHub (1.5 weeks)
• Learn JavaScript (1.5 weeks)
• Learn Python 3 (1.5 weeks)

JavaScript forms the foundation of modern web development. Python is a versatile language used across industries and tasks.

Stage 3 – Building a Portfolio Website Project

Your tutor provides exercises and guidelines to help you build a personalised portfolio. A strong portfolio is essential for showcasing your skills to potential employers. Completion of additional study courses is voluntary but recommended.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

Stage 4 – Entry Level Coding placement

We will work with you to help you secure your first role in coding, programming or web development. Entry-level roles typically start between £25K - £40k depending on prior knowledge or experience. Examples of roles include:
