Overview

Great opportunity for c.5-8pqe FS Regulatory layer to join the external facing legal team of this 'Big 4' international accounting and consultancy practice. This role has a focus on banking, payments and fintech companies although sits within a wider FS team.

Responsibilities

As a senior lawyer in the team, there will be opportunity to work solely on projects and also alongside colleagues on multidisciplinary engagements. There is responsibility to grow the practice and build networks/clients.

• regulatory advisory work and drafting legal memos, opinions & advice;
• legal and regulatory structuring input in a wider range of scenarios from group structure planning to deals;
• leading or supporting new authorisation applications to the UK / overseas regulators;
• regulatory due diligence and drafting work on M&A;
• giving expert subject matter advice to enable larger projects;
• attending and supporting industry-wide events;
• supporting our regulatory legal transformation and technology agenda;

There will be opportunity to support other lawyers directly on interesting engagements. The focus of this role will be on clients in payments & fintech sectors, but also exposure to a broader set of clients including banking, blockchain, asset and wealth management.

Qualifications / Experience

To be considered for this role you should be practising with a well regarded City or large regional firm, handling relevant FS regulatory work. There will be good scope for career advancement in an environment this is far more relaxed than a standard City firm set up. Excellent salary and package.
