Full Stack Product Engineer
2 Days Old
Overview
Full Stack Product Engineer role at zeroheight. Location: United Kingdom, fully remote. Salary: £72k - £110k + stock options. Salary range covers two levels we’re hiring at – Product Engineer and Senior Product Engineer. Your level will be assessed as part of the interview process and we’ll make an offer in this range based on your experience and the level.
We’re looking for full stack engineers to build beautiful & functional products from start-to-finish. We’re flexible about when you work and believe in experimentation – whether that’s with how we build things or how our teams work. We’d love to chat if you like the sound of this and love to build great user experiences! We are a remote-first company with no requirement to come into an office regularly.
What you’ll be doing
We’re still small (10 product engineers, 50 people total) so you’ll be working on building all types of features, teaming up with a designer and product manager. You’ll have start-to-finish ownership of the features – this brings accountability and pride when users love your work. You’ll be involved in planning scope to ensure we deliver value to our users quickly.
Examples of recent features you could be working on include:
- new ways of storing, managing and exporting design tokens, aligned to the W3C spec
- measurement tools to track adoption of design systems
- new tools to manage the state of design system components across all platforms
You’ll also contribute to activities outside traditional software engineering, such as supporting queries, planning the product roadmap, and driving project management for your features. There’ll be opportunities to share your work and new technologies with the team. Joining now is great if you want to broaden your skills or consider building your own startup someday.
Tech stack & environment
We use React to build UI components, with Storybook for isolated work. Some older code is in Marionette (Backbone.js); we’re transitioning to modern tooling. On the backend, the main server is Rails (Ruby). We host on AWS and use serverless functions (AWS Lambda) for a few tasks. If you’re super passionate about a particular tech, this startup may shift focus to deliver quickly and ship an amazing product.
We’re a fully remote team of 50+ people building the market-leading design system management platform. zeroheight enables companies to document, maintain and scale their design systems in one central hub.
Who we’re looking for
- You love creating beautiful UIs with precision and attention to detail; you understand how important design is to a successful product
- You’re curious about the design process and design systems
- You’re proactive, adaptable, and eager to grow in a startup environment
- You’re looking for opportunities to have real impact as we grow
Required Experience
- 3+ years working as a software engineer
- Experience with JavaScript and React
- Some experience with backend
Bonus experience
- Ruby
- AWS / Servers
- Experience solving user problems with AI solutions
How we work
Teams have autonomy to work in the way that suits them, with flexible hours. We value asynchronous updates over Slack, regular retrospectives, and sprint planning (weekly or fortnightly). The feature roadmap is planned quarterly by the whole team.

- Tech and product chat (30 minutes, video call)
