The Role:
As a Senior Technology Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for delivering products within agreed timescales, to cost and quality standards. You may oversee 2-3 smaller delivery teams or a single, more complex/technical team. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers to deliver value against the product vision, working with senior stakeholders and translating technical concepts effectively.
You will use your experience to select and apply appropriate delivery techniques, adapt approaches for optimal team performance, and support or mentor less experienced members. You may also facilitate governance meetings and contribute to cross-government communities of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Translate product roadmaps into detailed delivery plans, considering team skills and milestones.
- Manage delivery capacity, leverage frameworks for supplier engagement, and budget effectively.
- Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies, using delivery data.
- Partner with Product Managers to influence stakeholders and communicate technical concepts.
- Assess and motivate multiple delivery teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Additional activities include:
- Balancing speed, scope, and quality in delivery decisions.
- Managing technical debt strategically.
- Providing guidance on effective delivery practices and facilitating team ceremonies.
- Supporting and coaching team members to maximize success.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven passion and experience in delivery, with skills in creating delivery plans, translating technical concepts, and managing budgets.
- Strong people skills to build effective teams and improve performance.
- Experience with various methodologies, governance, risk, and compliance.
- Experience managing complete delivery lifecycles and implementing change.
