Overview
The Garment Technologist reports to the Senior Garment Technologist on their department and is responsible for their own product area. They are responsible for the development of each product within their area and ensuring that each product meets our Boden quality standards. They manage relationships with their suppliers and drive improvements in the quality and fit of their own product area.
Location: 4 days per week based at our North Acton Office.
This role is a 12 month FTC.
What You Will Do
Oversee management of labelling and packaging BOMs.
Oversee management of shipment samples.
Managing AQL process.
Managing testing process.
Presentation of product and feedback from product lockdown meetings.
Managing wearer trials and fabric development.
Product fully legally compliant.
Product developed in line with critical path.
Fit and risk assess own product area independently.
Achievement of fit returns target for product area and input to returns analysis – lead returns meetings.
Proofing of customer communication (bullet point and customer queries).
Clear communication with suppliers and maintaining good relationships with suppliers.
Supplier visits carried out and visit reports completed.
Contribute to supplier appraisal process and supplier allocation process.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of production.
Manage critical path for own product area.
Contribute to strategy packs.
Technical training of junior team members.
Develop and support junior members of the wider team.
Fabric development and contribution to fabric selection process.
Managing market restrictions.
Lead and develop team, ensuring team meet targets.
What We Are Looking For
Team leadership/management experience.
Experience of creating and managing development plans.
Degree or equivalent or relevant experience/qualification.
Strong experience working within a similar role.
Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Knowledge of pattern and garment construction.
Knowledge of yarns/fabrics.
Clear communication skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Great time management.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
