GCP DevOps Engineer / Contract / £550 Per day / Inside IR35 / Hybrid / London

We are looking for an experienced GCP DevOps Engineer to join a leading consultancy delivering cloud transformation projects across a variety of industries. This contract role is ideal for someone with strong Google Cloud Platform expertise and a proven track record of building and managing scalable, automated, and secure cloud environments. You will play a key role in designing and implementing DevOps best practices, supporting development teams, and ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure are in place for enterprise-level solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Drive automation across infrastructure and application delivery processes.
• Ensure reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of cloud environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production and non-production systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support cloud-native solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, ideally Terraform.
• Strong understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Google Cloud Operations Suite (formerly Stackdriver).
• Background in agile or consultancy environments.
