2 Days Old

Overview

We\'re expanding our Geo Division in Exeter and are seeking a Geo-environmental or Geotechnical Consultant, or a senior level consultant, to join us. If you\'re looking for career progression and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects in sectors like renewables, defence, commercial, and residential, we would like to hear from you. Our Exeter office offers a dynamic base for delivering transformative projects across the UK and beyond.

Our geo team collaborates closely with other disciplines to support clients through planning and construction. We provide expertise in scoping site investigations, interpreting field data, producing interpretative reports, and offering construction phase support. Some upcoming projects involve innovative approaches to manage ground risk in karstic environments, slope stability, and remediation of brownfield sites across the southwest.

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has experience across a range of ground conditions, can produce interpretative reports, and is ready to develop toward chartership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scoping and management of ground investigation techniques (chemical and geotechnical testing, both in situ and laboratory) and interpret results accurately.
  • Produce clear interpretive reports and provide construction phase support to projects.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver client solutions across a range of sectors and site conditions.
  • Travel to client sites and the Exeter office as part of hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

  • BEng, BSc, or higher in Contaminated Land, Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, with working toward Chartership; or a first degree in Geology with MSc in Contaminated Land or Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of ground investigation techniques and proven experience in scoping and managing investigations.
  • Experience in writing clear interpretive reports and coordinating laboratory and in situ testing.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work in a collaborative team to deliver client outcomes.

What We Offer

  • Inspiring and supportive colleagues
  • Recognition for hard work and opportunities for career progression
  • Development of technical and soft skills
  • Competitive starting salary
  • Community involvement through company initiatives
  • Flexible benefits, including a green car leasing scheme
