**Job Type:**Contractor**Build a brilliant future with Hiscox****Global Category Manager****Location****: London or York****6mth** **day rate contract (inside IR35)***We are looking for a Global Category Manager who has* *experience of large commercial deals across professional services within Insurance or wider Financial Services.***Position Overview**The Procurement Category Manager will establish relationships with stakeholders across the UK (and Europe/US to lesser extent) to ensure that procurement is aligned with both the minimum standards in procurement set out by the group as well as the business objectives.Where sourcing activity is material, high profile or high risk then the Category Manager will lead the procurement activity from market analysis through to contract signature. They will also provide advice and support to the business when managing vendors on a day-to-day basis.The role will be accountable for improving spend management in the UK as well as contributing to Group procurement strategy, identifying and evolving best practices and transforming the organisation to provide consistent and professional procurement practice. The role will ensure that that procurement plans are delivered across the UK to meet performance targets.**Responsibilities:*** Lead sourcing and procurement activity across the UK for High to Medium materiality contracts, whilst providing advice and support to colleagues undertaking lower materiality procurement activity such as tenders or renewal negotiations* Embed across the UK the new Procurement & Vendor Management Operating Model and policies as required to deploy best-practice based processes (as part of the drive to set and maintain minimum standards across all regions)* Creation and ongoing drive of value whilst adhering to Hiscox company values* Input into the creation of Group Sourcing Category Plans and the identification of demand and procurement savings reduction opportunities across the UK and beyond.* Undertake and input into the creation of procurement MI and Reporting and any other tasks or requirements as required by Hiscox from time to time.**What you’ll bring;*** In-depth knowledge of procurement, vendor and management principles and best practices* A history working in Financial Services or Insurance is highly desirable.* Strong negotiation skills and experience of large commercial deals across professional services; Finance, Actuarial, People and outsourcing preferable* Experience of Supplier Performance Management to support the business with monitoring of SLA’s, KPI’s to measure and maintain highest performance standards from key strategic suppliers* Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems* Expert knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk* Strong leadership skills across matrix structures* Team player at executive level to collaborate with Business Units and functional partners like Finance, HR, Legal, etc.* Excellent communication skills in order to get the “voice of the internal customer” and to understand the company culture and how to best communicate procurement’s value to it* Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills with proactive, driven approach to change* Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders* Ideally Professional qualification (CIPS / MCIPS)**About Hiscox**As an international specialist insurer we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products.
