Global Energy / Commodity Trading & Risk Management (ETRM / CTRM / E/CTRM) software house / technology business seeks a CEO to take over from their retiring CEO (who will remain on the Board) to continue the company's trajectory of global growth.

Based from anywhere in Europe, although ideally from London (desirable), you will be a high calibre, proven leader who is able to oversee the continued commercial success of the business and ensure continued growth, both organically and through acquisitions. The company is a global E/CTRM business with over 20 years of experience, providing complete E/CTRM end-to-end software solutions to a wide range of customers across the globe, from energy retailers, generators, and users ranging from start-ups to multinational energy companies.

Taking over from the retiring CEO, who will remain on the Board to assist with the transition, you will lead a financially secure energy/commodity trading technology business with over 100 clients globally and a history of year-on-year revenue, profit and share price growth over the last 5 years. The challenge is to maintain this growth and profitability while expanding into new geographies and commodities.

Salary: High base + variable bonus + significant equity (part linked to company growth)

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Proven leader operating at or around Board Level / Executive Level. Likely current or previous roles include CEO, COO or CRO for a competitor in energy or commodity trading software, or as a Partner for a services / IT consultancy working on energy / commodity trading software consulting (Endur, Allegro, EnTrader, Aligne, Aspect, CXL, Trinity, ElViz, Molecule, EKA, etc).
  • Essential understanding of energy or commodity trading software, gained through direct work with E/CTRM software or related energy trading data/software businesses.
  • This role requires Executive Level experience; not suitable for Directors or individuals below CxO/MD/Partner level.
  • Very strong presentation skills; able to represent the business to clients and investors internally and externally.
  • European-based role; candidate could be based elsewhere globally and be willing to relocate to Europe.
  • Experience in growing businesses, including rapid growth initiatives, is very useful.
