Job title

Senior Infrastructure Engineer — permanent, joining our global IT team. This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise-grade infrastructure across multiple UK office locations and contributing to projects that underpin our global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & Systems Support — 3rd line technical support for infrastructure issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime. Manage, maintain, and optimise Windows Server, VMware, and cloud-based infrastructure. Support and troubleshoot server hardware, virtualization, and enterprise storage systems. Maintain and improve Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, and Intune device management. Oversee system performance, patching, monitoring, and security updates. Manage and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Networking & Security — Manage and troubleshoot networking equipment (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi, WatchGuard). Monitor and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network infrastructure. Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing. Support security best practices, including firewall administration, endpoint protection, and compliance.
  • Cloud & Microsoft Services — Administer and support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive). Manage Microsoft Intune for device compliance, mobile management, and application deployment. Support and optimise Azure services including Entra ID, virtual machines, and hybrid integrations. Troubleshoot hybrid cloud environments and ensure seamless connectivity.
  • Troubleshooting & Escalation — Act as an escalation point for 1st/2nd line engineers. Liaise with vendors and partners to resolve complex technical issues. Maintain accurate documentation for systems, configurations, and incident resolution.
  • On-Site Support & Collaboration — Provide senior hands-on support across office sites around the M25. Collaborate with internal teams and the Cyber Security function on security and compliance initiatives. Support project delivery, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior infrastructure or 3rd line IT support role.
  • Strong background in VMware administration and troubleshooting.
  • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration expertise.
  • Hands-on with Intune and modern device management.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs.
  • Networking knowledge with Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi, and WatchGuard.
  • Security-focused, with patch management, endpoint security, and firewall skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel between sites (expenses covered).

Desirable Skills

  • Linux (Ubuntu, Debian).
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • SQL or database administration experience.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., FreshService).
  • Familiarity with IT compliance frameworks.
  • ITIL certification or experience with service management practices.
