Global Payments Business Execution Lead (UK/Europe), SVP
Role summary: The Payments Business Execution Lead is a senior level role responsible for driving results through close partnership and collaboration within the Payments Business Execution Team and across the broader Payments organization. This team spearheads strategic initiatives across Global Payments, including driving revenue growth, managing expenses and headcount, monitoring business performance, providing insightful sales analytics and reports, and collaborating with COO, Sales and Other Services business teams to implement Citi-wide strategic initiatives and develop strategic frameworks.
Reporting to the Global Payments Business Execution Head, this role requires exceptional analytical, communication, and management skills, with strong leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and a relentless focus on execution. The Business Execution Lead will lead all Business Execution activities for the Payments UK/Europe cluster, support Payments UK/Europe Head on a daily basis, and drive Global strategic initiatives and projects. This role offers broad exposure to the Global Payments business and its strategic priorities and significant professional development opportunities.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with Business, Function, and Cluster Heads to advance Payments-wide strategic priorities, including business performance management, client experience enhancements, headcount management, and expense management.
- Business Alignment & Collaboration: Partner with local and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overarching goals; lead key business forums in UK/Europe to drive growth.
- Revenue/Sales Analytics: Lead revenue and sales analytics, delivering strategic insights to drive growth across product lines and customer segments within UK/Europe, applying the Global Payments Framework.
- Executive Communications & Reporting: Prepare materials for leadership forums (Business Reviews, Town Halls, internal/external reviews, presentations, Citi earnings), and manage ad-hoc deliverables related to reviews and initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and refine best practices, streamline processes to enhance business management activities and drive efficiency gains.
- Project Management & Execution: Drive implementation of business-critical projects across functions in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Knowledge Sharing & Communication: Communicate business and product knowledge and strategic requirements to business units and support functions.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Assess risk in decisions, safeguard Citi’s reputation and assets, ensure compliance with laws and internal policies, and exercise sound judgment.
- Regulatory Forums/Questionnaires: Coordinate materials for UK/Europe regulatory meetings, exams, and related requests.
What We’ll Need From You
- Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s degree preferred.
- Relevant experience in financial markets, business strategy and execution, or financial management. Experience with Banking businesses, especially Treasury and Trade Solutions or Securities Services, is highly desirable.
- Fluent English.
- Analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
- Data analysis and interpretation: Proficiency in processing large datasets and extracting actionable insights.
- Strategic thinking & execution: Strong analytical, project management, and financial acumen.
- Problem-solving: Ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with Tableau, SQL preferred.
- Judgment & Accountability: Sound judgment and accountability for achieving significant business results.
