Job Overview

This is a critical role for the Trust as it will support Trustees in delivering their statutory responsibilities through local Governance.

This role is offered on a permanent, term-time (39 weeks) basis. Consideration will be given to dividing the role into two part-time postholders pro-rata to make up one FTE, or to appoint one full-time postholder.

About The Role

The Governance Officer supports the Governance and Compliance Team, providing guidance across nine Local Governing Bodies (LGBs). Responsibilities include supporting and clerking LGB meetings, panels, and hearings, ensuring they are efficient and compliant with statutory and Trust requirements. The role involves working closely with LGB Chairs, the Principal, Trust executives, and governors to ensure meetings are conducted within their Terms of Reference and the Scheme of Delegation, facilitating effective governance and administrative support.

The role offers hybrid flexibility; however, in-person collaboration and stakeholder engagement are essential. Meetings are primarily in person, with some remote options via MS Teams. The role requires flexibility in working hours, including possible evening meetings, aligned with the academic calendar.
