Role Description

Join our team as a Technology Controls Senior Analyst, responsible for testing the design and operational effectiveness of technology controls across the enterprise. This role focuses on independently evaluating control evidence, documenting test results, and providing clear, accurate reporting that supports regulatory compliance, audit requirements, and internal risk management objectives. You will work closely with control owners, auditors, and technology risk teams to ensure controls are designed appropriately and operating as intended. This position is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days in the Guildford Office and may require occasional travel.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £55,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • You will be executing testing of IT and technology-related controls, including IT application controls and security controls.
  • Evaluating the design effectiveness of controls to determine whether they are suitably structured to mitigate risks.
  • Testing the operating effectiveness of controls by reviewing documentation, system evidence, and process walkthroughs.
  • Clearly documenting testing steps, evidence reviewed, and conclusions in line with internal methodologies and regulatory expectations.
  • Identifying and communicating control deficiencies, gaps, or exceptions to management.
  • Partnering with control owners to validate remediation plans and retest corrected controls.
  • Preparing detailed test reports and contributing to overall risk/control reporting.
  • Supporting external audits, internal audits, and regulatory examinations by providing requested testing results and evidence.
  • Staying informed of industry standards and best practices for control testing, compliance, and IT risk management.

Essential Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency in GRC tools and software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance frameworks, preferably COBIT.
  • Proven ability to evaluate evidence and document testing in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, or CISSP are preferred.
  • Advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in IT audit, technology risk management, or controls testing.
