Graduate Analyst Programme

For recent graduates joining our Oxford office, we offer a 21-month development programme designed to provide:

  • Accelerated training in the workings of energy markets
  • Direct involvement in live client projects
  • Opportunities to contribute to industry-leading reports
  • A chance to develop a well-rounded skillset—analytical, collaborative, and communicative
  • A deeper understanding of Aurora’s business and future career paths

Exposure to Teams

As a Graduate Analyst, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in different teams across the company, such as:

  • Advisory: executing bespoke consulting projects for clients
  • Research: developing market forecast reports and original in-depth research on the future of energy systems
  • Commercial: directly contribute to Aurora’s commercial success
  • Software Solutions: developing and delivering services that enhance the value of our software

About the Teams

Advisory

  • Projects include valuations of energy assets, modelling bespoke scenarios and asset configurations and conducting analysis to forecast asset economics for investors, banks, developers and utilities. The Advisory team also works with governments and regulators on designing and evaluating energy policy.
  • Most projects last around two weeks; some longer projects can take several months.
  • Graduate Analysts usually work alongside other analysts; project teams are made up of one or two analysts, a project manager and a senior associate providing oversight. Teams re-form for each new project, so you will get the chance to work with everyone in the wider advisory team.

Research

  • Quarterly market forecast reports are the main output. You’ll model energy markets and update our view of the evolution of the power system to 2060, based on latest assumptions, with desk research and collaboration with other teams.
  • The reports are read by subscribers across the industry, including developers, utilities, asset optimisers, system operators, policymakers and regulators.

Commercial

  • In the GB&I commercial team, you will directly contribute to Aurora’s commercial success, build client networks, and work with colleagues across Europe.
  • You will lead your own sales opportunities from initial calls to proposal writing, pricing and contract negotiation.
  • You will assist in ongoing management of client accounts to understand client needs and how Aurora can support them.

Software Solutions

  • Product Team: supporting the introduction of new software features and market expansions; learn product management skills, gather client feedback, write feature requirements, contribute to the product roadmap, and collaborate with development and modelling teams.
  • Customer Success Team: supporting client onboardings, training, and workshops; help clients discover new use cases and understand software benefits; contribute to bespoke projects and analyze user feedback to inform product and sales strategies.
