Overview

Graduate Consultant - Flood Risk at Tetra Tech Europe. Start date: September 2026. Location: London and Bristol. This graduate role involves joining the flood risk and drainage teams on a range of activities and projects.

Role and Responsibilities

You will work on:

  • Flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment
  • Drainage design and SuDS (sustainable drainage systems)
  • Delivery of projects for private and public sector clients across a range of sizes and sectors
  • Independent and proactive technical work from project inception through to delivery and close-out, supported by senior colleagues
  • Internal project management training and a structured learning platform including mentoring, CPD and coaching
  • Travel within the UK and occasional work outside normal office hours as required

Projects typically include Flood Risk Assessments for planning (from 10 homes up to 5,000), local authority flood risk schemes, and design options to support client risk management.

Location and Programme

Locations: London and Bristol. Some travel and flexible working arrangements where possible.

Requirements / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in a relevant field (minimum 2:1) and eligibility for CEng MICE or chartered with CIWEM
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to take on challenges, and a desire to progress within a growing team
  • Interest in flood risk management, hydraulic modelling and catchment hydrology for rivers, coast and surface water
  • Passion for reducing the impacts of climate change and interest in natural flood risk management solutions
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently with a collaborative approach and deliver work on time
  • Commitment to health and safety practices
  • Team player with flexibility and adaptability
  • Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
  • Security clearance to minimum SC level preferable (or be willing to apply for clearance)
