Role and Responsibilities

As our Sustainability Officer, you\'ll play a key role in driving our company\'s commitment to environmental responsibility and ethical business practices. Working closely with the Head of Compliance and QHSE Manager, you\'ll gain hands-on experience across sustainability reporting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. A typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one-hour lunch break. This role also offers flexibility to work from home, typically two days per week for a five-day working week.

  • Support the maintenance and management of sustainability platforms, including the Carbon Disclosure Portal, SWEEP, and the Social Value Portal.
  • Assist in preparing environmental and social value reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with key standards and regulations.
  • Contribute to our environmental management frameworks, including ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, under expert guidance.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business from Bids to Marketing to gather sustainability data and support client submissions.
  • Help develop internal training and guidance materials to embed sustainability best practice.
  • Stay up to date with emerging legislation, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), to support our continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Passionate about sustainability and eager to learn within a fast-paced commercial setting.
  • Experience through volunteering, university projects, or internships in sustainability or environmental topics would be a bonus.
  • We value candidates with AI literacy; individuals who are curious about technology, comfortable exploring automation, and eager to contribute to a modern, forward-thinking business.
