We’re growing our grounds maintenance division and are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to take a hands-on and developmental role, with the opportunity to grow into a future leadership position.Role PurposeThe Grounds Maintenance Lead will play a dual role in both delivering grounds maintenance services to our clients and developing the division through client communication, sales, and contract growth. Over time, this role will evolve into a full leadership position, managing a dedicated team and taking strategic ownership of the division.ResponsibilitiesService Delivery: Carry out grounds maintenance duties on client sites (e.g., grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, disposal, external cleaning) and ensure all work is delivered to high standards, in line with health & safety requirements.Maintain equipment and vehicles to company standards.Act as the main point of contact on-site, representing Neatwork Group professionally at all times.Business Development & Client Relations: Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, support tendering and quoting for new grounds maintenance contracts, identify opportunities to upsell and expand services across client sites, and report back on client feedback for continuous improvement.Leadership & Growth: Take ownership of the growth and organisation of the grounds maintenance division, schedule and deliver work efficiently as new contracts are won, and, in time, recruit, train, and manage a team of grounds operatives. Work with management to shape the long-term strategy of the division, with a view to progressing into Head of Grounds Maintenance.Person SpecificationEssential:Hands-on experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Commercial awareness and willingness to engage in sales/client development.Ability to manage time effectively and balance service delivery with business growth.Ambition to progress into a leadership/management position.Full UK driving licence.Desirable:Experience in quoting/tendering for grounds maintenance contracts.Previous leadership or supervisory experience.Relevant horticultural or grounds maintenance qualifications (e.g., PA1/PA6, NVQ, etc.).PackageCompetitive salary (dependent on experience).Company vehicle and equipment provided.Opportunities for progression into a senior leadership position within Neatwork Group.Pension and holiday entitlement in line with company policy.
