Our client, a leader in the wealth management sector, is looking to appoint a Group Data Governance, Risk & Protection Officer

This is a senior, high-impact role within the Risk and Compliance Directorate of a leading financial services organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting client data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing enterprise-wide data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and take ownership of the Group Data Governance, Risk & Protection framework.
• Ensure data integrity, privacy, and resilience across all operations.
• Oversee data protection compliance and manage interactions with regulators.
• Drive second-line assurance, risk monitoring, and reporting to senior management and board-level committees.
• Collaborate with IT, Compliance, Legal, and Internal Audit to enhance governance and security practices.
• Chair key committees overseeing information security and data governance.

Ideal Candidate

• Expert in GDPR, DPA, UK regulatory expectations, and information security standards.
• Strong background in risk, compliance, audit, or data protection within a multinational, regulated environment.
• Experienced in managing data incidents, breaches, and privacy impact assessments.
• Strategic, influential leader with excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
