The team manages a £350m+ budget and has been recognised as a runner-up for Large Finance Team of the Year. The university is looking to welcome a Group Financial Accountant to play a key role in its continued success.

Location: Loughborough (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)

Salary: £46,735 – £55,755 per annum + outstanding holiday allowance and pension contribution

The role

This is a broad and varied role that goes beyond narrow technical accounting. You’ll:

  • Lead on the preparation and consolidation of the University’s Annual Report and Financial Statements (FRS102) and those of its subsidiaries.
  • Oversee subsidiary and spin-out reporting, ensuring robust control and compliance.
  • Manage a small, driven team of three: two qualified Financial Accountants (covering fixed assets, tax and subsidiaries) and one Assistant Accountant in training.
  • Support financial planning, including forecasting for central costs and depreciation.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the University, providing technical expertise and insight.

About you

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation and compliance with FRS102.
  • Outgoing, delivery-focused, with the drive to take ownership and see things through.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
