Group Financial Controller (14 month FTC)

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance Controller to join our team on a 14-month contract as a maternity cover. This role offers the opportunity to manage the end-to-end finance processes across multiple entities and play a key part in our financial operations. You’ll work closely with the existing team during the handover period and support the transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments
  • Full balance sheet ownership with multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Manage HMRC reconciliations and ensure compliance with tax requirements
  • Handle Invoice Finance facility reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations
  • Take responsibility for finance system administration
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to support management decisions
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial operations

Candidate Requirements:

  • Several years of experience in a finance/controller role, ideally across multiple entities
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or in the final stages of qualification
  • Strong technical skills in accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Comfortable taking ownership and working independently while collaborating with colleagues
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communicator, able to explain complex financial information clearly
