Group Financial Controller (plc)

Blair West are supporting a listed North East based business with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller. Reporting into an experienced CFO, the successful candidate will lead a small team playing a key role as the group scales to record revenues.
The incoming Group Financial Controller will be suitably ambitious, ideally with listed / corporate accounting experience, with strong technical skills across IFRS and a successful career to date.
The opportunity:
- Lead a small finance team with day-to-day responsibility for the finance function.
- Ownership of the consolidated group accounts and legal entity management.
- Drive the annual business plan process and monthly business re-forecast.
- Monthly overhead cost review ensuring effective cost management.
- Balance sheet control and working capital management.
- Business case investment appraisals.
- Treasury management.
- Lead on year-end audit, preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and subsidiaries prepared under full IFRS.
- Tax compliance and preparation of tax computations.
- Input into improvement of Group’s controls and business processes ensuring integrity, accuracy and transparency of the systems.
- Continuous improvement of financial processes driving automation and streamlining of business processes.
- Provide support to the CFO on various ad-hoc projects.
You’ll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
- A qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA with suitable PQE.
- Strong technical skills and IFRS knowledge.
- Ambitious, willing to take ownership and solve problems.
- Flexible approach to support business requirements.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with other departments and external stakeholders.
- Organised with an attention to detail.
