Overview

Nord Anglia Education – the world’s leading private schools organisation – is recruiting a Group Head of Safeguarding to join our Education team in London HQ. Location: London Victoria (hybrid model, minimum 3 days in the office).

The Role

As Group Head of Safeguarding, you will be responsible for embedding a safeguarding culture across the global group of schools. You will create and review Nord Anglia Education safeguarding policies and practice across all our schools. You will work collaboratively with principals, teachers, regional and central support teams to deliver safeguarding training and ensure colleagues have up-to-date information on policies and best practice. NAE has a strong focus on student wellbeing and you will promote and drive wellbeing initiatives across the organisation.

The Role

We seek an individual to join as Group Head of Safeguarding where your focus will be to:

  • Lead on the development of rigorous child safeguarding systems, processes, and practice across the organisation and in all schools, to keep children safe from harm.
  • Support schools to build their own capacity for effective internal safeguarding processes in line with the Organisation's self-improving school system methodology through the development of resources, materials, and training.
  • Maintain and develop a database of safeguarding audits and action plans, identify trends and patterns, and ensure regular, relevant reporting to the Executive Committee.
  • Collaborate with central functions and regional teams (HR, Health and Safety) to monitor and evaluate safeguarding processes and advise on improvements.

The Successful Candidate Will Have Experience In

  • Advising on schools and for organisations at regional or national level.
  • Judging the performance of schools and the quality of safeguarding processes.
  • Managing incidents and investigations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices outside of the UK.
  • Ability to command respect from educational peers and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet targets within deadlines; sound project management skills.
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships and networks.
  • Competent with finance/statistics/reporting.
