Group Management Accountant

Location: London (Very flexible working)

Reports to: CFO / Group Financial Controller

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented & driven, Group Management Accountant. This role will be key in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting, supporting group-level consolidation, and ensuring consistency in accounting processes across multiple entities.

You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders to provide analysis, maintain robust financial controls, and drive improvements in processes and reporting. The position offers a broad range of responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute to both core accounting and wider finance projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports with commentary on performance.
  • Analyse variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying trends and drivers.
  • Manage costs associated with operations and projects, including variance and profitability analysis.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of project revenues, costs, accruals, WIP, and deferred revenue.
  • Take ownership of country ledgers, including all journal entries (accruals, prepayments, depreciation).
  • Manage intercompany billing in line with transfer pricing policies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts for responsible ledgers.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and explanations.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to align financial goals with business objectives.
  • Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure financial deliverables are met on time.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and support wider finance projects as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and accounting systems.
