Bridging the gap between Data & AI/ML Talent with clients in the Financial Sector | Harrington Starr

Head of AI/ML Engineering | Asset Manager in London | £140,000-£160,000 + Bonus | Hybrid

Excited to partner with a well known Asset Manager ($60B AUM) in London who are looking for an experienced AI/ML Engineering Lead to come in and help supercharge their AI capabilities within the firm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be the first hire within this domain and have a team built around you to bring your AI solutions to life. The very first project will be implementing a state of the art chatbot for the investment teams to use.

For this position we require 2/3days onsite in the Central London office.

What are we looking for?

• Approximately 7+ years, or equivalent, of relevant experience in AI/ML engineering or another related field
• Proven experience leading AI-driven projects from conception through to deployment, ideally within a corporate context
• Proficiency in AI/ML and agentic frameworks e.g. AutoGen, OpenAI Agents, Bedrock, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras or similar
• Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and how to apply them effectively using LLMs
• Strong problem soling skills, with the ability to optimise models for specific tasks and be able to effectively drive performance improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders for effective collaboration with cross functional teams
• Experience working within, or a solid working understanding of, the Financial Services industry is a strong advantage
