- Band 8a Salary Range £62,681 - £67,665 per annum.
- If development opportunity is requested, the salary banding will be commensurate with current level of experience and training requirements, with progression through the bands as skillset develops. This will be discussed at the first stage interview.
plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,482 per annum.

This is a single-handed Audiologist post, with responsibility for clinical and managerial delivery of a hospital-based Audiology service, providing in-patient and out-patient care. You will be responsible for maintaining professional standards and developing the service in Shetland. You will provide a comprehensive Audiology service including rehabilitative care, complex diagnostic assessments of hearing, and care for adult and all paediatric hearing aid users; hearing aid programming, and repair using computer software and specific specialised hardware. You will also provide support to the visiting ENT clinicians.
You will be responsible for the daily clinical work of the department, managing your own workload as well as supervision, training, and direct line management responsibility of the part-time Audiology assistant. Working in a small department requires exceptional interpersonal skills. Furthermore, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with other professionals and service users, including patients, carers, and relatives.
The successful candidate must have the relevant qualifications:
- Audiology BSc or equivalent such as BAAT Parts 1&2 with NC Physiological Measurement.
- Postgraduate level education/qualification in an audiology-specific discipline and/or business/leadership development.
- Current registration with RCCP or equivalent.
