What the role is
The Head of Bids leads the formal and non-formal bid management process and team, from pre-qualification through to contract award, for Investigo, InX, BioTalent & Definia. The role coordinates and produces proposals, manages cross-functional teams, and ensures submissions meet highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance. Focus on growing the company’s win rate from pitch (PowerPoint) through to multi-million pound bids and supporting the sales floor.
Experience Needed
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in bid management, proposal development, ideally within the Recruitment or Talent Industry
- Proven experience of bids process management within consulting
- Proven track record of successfully managing and winning large-scale bids

- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in bid management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities
- Bid Management: Lead the end-to-end bid process (PQQ, RFI, RFP, final submission); develop bid strategies aligned with company objectives; coordinate input from sales, finance, legal, and technical teams; write, edit, and review proposal content; ensure compliance; manage schedules; tailor proposals and presentations; oversee pitch deck creation; content curation for templates, case studies, and key messages.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with senior management to develop win strategies and differentiators; provide regular progress updates; mentor bid managers and coordinators; drive continuous improvement of bid processes.
- Market Analysis & Research: Identify new opportunities and monitor competitor activities; capture feedback to improve future bids.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all bid activities comply with policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards; identify and mitigate bid risks.
