About the Role
The Head of Business Intelligence & Analytics will own Foxtons’ enterprise-wide BI strategy, leading the development of our Azure-based data platform, governance frameworks, and reporting ecosystem.
You will drive the adoption of AI-enhanced analytics, enable self-service BI across the organisation, and ensure that data is trusted, timely, and actionable. This role will be pivotal in shaping how data is used to increase revenue, optimise operations, and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the enterprise BI and analytics strategy, aligned with business objectives and OKRs.
- Lead the development of the Azure Synapse datalakehouse and OneLake architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and modelling, integrating both internal and external datasets.
- Maintain and enforce data governance frameworks, including KPI definitions, metadata management, and GDPR/compliance adherence.
- Embed ethical AI and responsible data practices, ensuring transparency, fairness, and explainability in AI models.
Reporting, Visualisation & Advanced Analytics
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide Power BI solutions, optimising DAX and semantic models for performance and usability.
- Implement AI-driven features (e.g., Power BI Copilot, natural language querying, automated insights) to enhance stakeholder engagement.
- Champion self-service analytics, enabling business teams to explore data confidently without over-reliance on BI specialists.
- Use advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and surface revenue-generation opportunities.
- Stay at the forefront of AI/BI technology trends, evaluating and deploying emerging tools that add measurable value.
Operational Efficiency & Automation
- Leverage RPA and workflow automation to reduce manual processes and improve data delivery speed.
- Implement real-time and streaming analytics for faster operational decision-making.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BI developers, data analysts, and product owners.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and data literacy across the business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure analytics is embedded in decision-making.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- Proven leadership experience (5+ years) in BI, analytics, or data science, ideally in a high-volume, customer-centric environment.
- Strong SQL, PowerBI (DAX), and Power Query skills, with a deep understanding of data modelling and semantic modelling best practices.
- Extensive experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake/OneLake, and Azure ML Studio.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, exposure to machine learning.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for data models, Git-based version control, and automated testing frameworks.
- Exposure to solutions which deliver AI into BI solutions, including natural language querying and automated insights
Business & Leadership Skills
- Demonstrated success in aligning analytics initiatives to business KPIs and measurable outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to translate complex data concepts into actionable business recommendations.
- Change management experience in transitioning teams towards AI-enabled analytics and self-service BI.
- £85k-£90k salary + performance related bonus
