The Head of Commercial Transformation is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Effectiveness & Transformation (CET) and will be part of the CET Management Team. In alignment with the CCO Strategy as reflected from the DLL Strategy, CET enables the commercial ambitions of DLL; maximizing the go-to-market speed, effectiveness, and efficiency of our Markets and Global Business Units (GBUs). CET is a newly formed department within the CCO domain that is envisioned to be transformative for commercial people, processes, tools, planning, and insights; and YOU get to be part of this exciting journey!
Your mission is to develop and lead a team in defining and delivering a forward-thinking way of working in our commercial organization through the evolution of sales, process, tools, training and the embedding of behaviors and change management to ensure results. This role is critical to driving sales performance and implementing effective sales enablement strategies to achieve our business targets and objectives. Focus areas include attraction, development, and retention of top commercial talents, delivery of top-class tailored sales training programs, implementation of DLL’s behavior change management framework for commercial members, fostering of commercial member well-being, sales process improvement, and a plan to transition the commercial organization in response to a shift towards a digital enabled business model as well as external and internal business model changes.
This role is global and can be based in UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, US or Canada.You will be leading an international team of professionals that will help you define and implement the commercial member strategy of DLL. Day To Day
- Oversee and manage the Commercial Transformation team centered on a dynamic and change-oriented working environment
- Ensure that strategic vision and roadmap are implemented with clear and visible business impact
- Work closely and meet regularly with GBU, and Market, leaders, Group HR, Finance, Operations and other transformation teams to ensure alignment to country and industry nuances, support of DLL financial goals, operational efficiency as well to help shape the overall DLL member strategy
- Support members of the CET Management Team in their own strategic initiatives that may involve the commercial member scope of CET. For example, in ad-hoc/ one-time commercial member training and behavior change management.
- Work in close cooperation with HR Business Partners to enhance the sales performance management framework to include regular performance reviews, coaching, and feedback to drive individual, team, country & regional sales productivity. Monitor and evaluate sales performance against targets, identify areas for improvement, and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Assess, collaborate and redesign ways of working in customer facing areas to identify waste, improve efficiency and deliver better customer results.
- Partner with Commercial Teams to drive the implementation and adoption of best practices in sales processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.
- Partner with Chief Technology Officer (and team) on the design, roadmap, deployment and utilization of CRM
- To ensure accountability and transparency, provide regular strategic updates on commercial member development within CET and across all GBUs and Markets
- Defining, redefining, and pivoting, if necessary, strategic initiatives of the team
- Develop team members to excel in their roles and contribute to ensuring their own well-being
- Two working days per year volunteering for a local charity.

Essentials
- University-level degree, MSc or MBA preferred
- Min 5 years of experience in a pure Commercial function is essential. A strong understanding of the commercial role and environment is required to understand the needs and pain points of a sales member
- Min 5 years of leadership positions (in a management team preferred) managing, leading, and developing a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural, and international team
- Have demonstrated in previous roles clear and high business value deliverables that benefit sales members in a global context
- Strong sense of strategic planning, thinking, and implementation
- Experience in application of knowledge on effective behavior change frameworks and proven methodologies (not just pure theoretical) demonstrated by clear cases and strong results
- Ability to deal with adversity and resistance to change
- Knowledge of industry insights and trends impacting commercial members
- Understanding of cultural differences and impact on global member initiatives
- Strong communication skills in all levels (pitching clear strategy and plans to Executive Board or CCO MT as well as inspiring entire sales force across all GBUs on all sales initiatives)
- Knowledge of Financial and professional Services
- Able to navigate and build relationships with a diverse audience of stakeholders especially in an international matrix organizational setting
- Strong experience in coaching and mentoring
- Experience in organizational design, sales enablement, or transformation preferred
- Change Management experience
- Process Improvement and/or Agile certifications
- Fluent in English, other languages beneficial
