Overview
The University is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to head up our Construction Trades Department in the FE College. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a dynamic curriculum area that supports progression and plays a key role in addressing regional and national skills needs.
As Head of Construction Trades, you will be responsible for leading curriculum development, managing departmental performance, and ensuring an outstanding student experience. You will work closely with staff, students, and industry partners to embed high‑quality teaching and learning, strong employer engagement, and a culture of innovation. We are looking for someone with leadership experience in FE and a strong background in the construction sector, who can bring strategic insight, operational strength, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum development for the Construction Trades Department in the FE College.
- Manage departmental performance and ensure an outstanding student experience.
- Collaborate with staff, students, and industry partners to embed high‑quality teaching and learning.
- Drive strong employer engagement and a culture of innovation within the department.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in Further Education (FE).
- Strong background in the construction sector with strategic and operational capabilities.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and enhancing the student experience.
