Head of Cost Management - Global Property Development
Head Office: London (with UK & international travel)
£100,000 - £115,000 base salary + bonus (up to 25%)

Are you an experienced cost management leader with a track record of delivering multi-site property developments at scale? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global organisation on an exciting growth journey as Head of Cost Management within their Property Development team.

The Role

  • Own the accurate calculation of all capital project costs and manage projects against approved cost plans.
  • Deliver projects on or below budget and drive year-on-year cost savings across new builds, refurbishments, and other major capital investments.
  • Lead procurement and tender processes, appointing and managing contractors, suppliers, and advisers.
  • Provide accurate reporting of capex expenditure to senior stakeholders, up to C-suite.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including value engineering and process optimisation.
  • Drive delivery of large-scale property projects on time and within budget, ensuring resources and supply chains are effectively managed.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and cost professionals.

About You

  • A degree or post-graduate qualification in Quantity Surveying or Finance, and professional chartership.
  • Experience overseeing a £100m+ portfolio of development projects.
  • Proven expertise in cost management, investment decision-making, and delivering multi-site property programmes.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
  • A collaborative, hands-on leadership style with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
  • Experience in appointing and managing contractors and third-party partners.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally.
