Description

We are recruiting for a Head of Data & Analytics to lead our Data & Analytics team within the CSG Division at DAC Beachcroft. The team provides analytics products to both internal and external clients in a wide range of areas, including performance and operational analysis, market trends, predictive modelling and fraud detection. This is an area of rapid development, with the team leading the way in making a truly intelligence led organisation.
This role can be done on a remote basis with occasional travel as required or from one of our core offices in Birmingham, Newport, Belfast or Glasgow.

What you will do?

· Build and manage the Data & Analytics function, developing and executing a CSG data strategy ensuring alignment with the overall business goals.
· Lead and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's business objectives, focusing on operational efficiency, risk management and growth.
· As a key member of the technology team, lead, mentor, develop and manage a high-performing data & analytics team, utilising both in-house and outsourced resources, fostering a culture of delivery and accountability where continuous improvement and business value mindsets are the norm.
· Establish robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, accessibility, security, and compliance with jurisdiction specific legal, regulatory and industry requirements eg regulations such as GDPR, DPA, SRA Code of Conduct, and others.
· Implement robust data governance policies that define data standards, structures, procedures, and access controls.
· Establish clear roles and responsibilities for data ownership and stewardship across all departments.
· Work with the CIO, to recommend and implement a scalable and secure data foundation, enabling data democratisation and providing the basis for exploitation of emerging AI technology.
· Design and implement scalable data architecture, including data models, common data structures and nomenclature.
· Ensure seamless integration of disparate data sources from various business units to provide a single source of truth.
· Define the structure and organisation of the data, including how it's captured, stored, enriched, accessed and processed, ensuring scalability and robust data pipelines plus accurate and timely data availability.
· Optimise data analytics platforms to gain insights and support decision-making in a meaningful way for every user.
· Oversee the deployment of advanced analytics tools, including predictive analytics, machine learning, and generative AI, to deliver actionable insights that enhance products and competitive practices.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify key metrics and develop dashboard and reporting tools that facilitate data-driven decision making.
· Build, mentor and manage a high-performing data & analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy, promoting a data-driven mindset across the business.
· Lead initiatives to embed data-based decision-making at all levels cultivating an agile and design thinking culture within the data function and the broader organisation.
· Work closely with other functional areas of the business to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
· Liaise with external partners, vendors and regulatory bodies to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of data, analytics & AI innovation and compliance.
· Ensure data is used ethically and responsibly, providing a trustworthy foundation for AI applications.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
· Experience in data management, analytics, or a similar leadership role, ideally within the legal, insurance, or financial services industries.
· Demonstrable expertise in developing and executing data strategies, with a strong understanding of data governance, quality and compliance.
· Proven experience in designing scalable data architectures and integrating diverse data sources.
· Strong knowledge of advanced analytics, machine learning and BI tools.
· Excellent Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paces, dynamic environment and drive change across multiple departments.
