We're looking for a Head of Design to join our Major Projects team based at Hinkley Point C. Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset, with remote working available and occasional travel to the office required. Hours: 45 hours per week, with some flexibility available.

Responsibilities

As Head of Design, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, shaping a high-profile project that will leave a lasting legacy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Input to and managing the project clause 31 and 32 programmes for design, understanding the importance of task planning and short interval control in the context of the wider project planning.
• Performance managing the team on time, cost, quality, and health and safety; including agreeing and monitoring targets and providing feedback.
• Setting the standard for health and safety reporting, including monitoring and encouraging positive design interventions.
• Working with the Building Information Modelling (BIM) manager to drive and support the use of digital design, common data environments, collaborative planning, clash checking, and asset information capture.
• Ensuring a proactive risk and opportunity management approach on all projects.

Requirements

This role is great for you if:

• You hold a degree-level engineering qualification.
• You ideally hold CSCS accreditation or agree to obtain this during your employment.
• You have a full driving licence.
