A highly effective digital trading function will be integral to this next phase, and we are looking to hire a Head of Digital Trading who will define and execute our online commercial strategy and ensure the continued growth and optimisation of our digital business.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven, highly analytical and results-oriented digital leader. The Head of Digital Trading will be responsible for maximising the performance of our digital channels [website and app], ensuring we deliver exceptional customer experiences while driving sustainable sales and profit growth.

  • Define and deliver the overall digital trading strategy, aligned with business objectives.
  • Own digital sales, margin, conversion and customer journey KPIs across the website and app.
  • Directly manage the digital teams that analyse trading performance, merchandise the site, publish content/products and optimise the digital experience.
  • Lead the planning and execution of the online trading calendar, including new launches, campaigns and promotional activity.
  • Monitor and optimise daily and weekly trading performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of onsite merchandising, navigation, search, checkout, and overall conversion optimisation.
  • Oversee test-and-learn initiatives, including CRO and A/B testing, to improve trading metrics and customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, Digital Development and Technology teams to ensure a joined-up approach to digital growth that constantly strives to inspire our customers, showcase our products and make purchasing as easy and convenient as possible.
  • Support international expansion strategies, tailoring digital trading approaches by market.
  • Lead, develop and inspire the Digital Trading team, creating a high-performance, insight-led culture.
  • Provide senior stakeholders with actionable recommendations through clear, data-driven insight.
  • Manage budgets related to trading initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and return on investment.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in digital trading or ecommerce leadership roles, ideally within retail and luxury.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering online sales and profit growth.
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce platforms, site merchandising, CRO, and customer journeys.
  • Highly analytical, confident in using data and insight to drive decision-making.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing levers (SEO, PPC, affiliates, email, paid social).
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior level.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects.
  • Commercial, innovative, customer-focused and results-driven.
