Head of Enterprise Architecture

The Head of Enterprise Architecture is responsible for evaluating University digital systems and for developing business operations, establishing architectural models (according to business plans and existing systems), performing research and analysis, and recommending changes to information technology structures. The role ensures strategic goals and objectives are aligned and provides professional advice and guidance on products and services, partners and suppliers, the organisation, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives.

The primary points of reference for the execution of the role are the University Strategy, Transformation Programme, Digital Plan, business operations, data governance and related processes that link these aspects of the enterprise together.

The Head of Enterprise Architecture will develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques. The role involves designing and implementing enterprise‑wide technology solutions that align with the university's goals and objectives.

The Head of Enterprise Architecture reports to the Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) to align technical solutions with business needs. The post is planned to have supervisory responsibility for the Enterprise Architecture function and works with others at all levels of the organisation, analysing strategic imperatives from senior leaders and supporting managers as they leverage business plans.

This post is full‑time and open ended.

Grade 9 salary range of £72,998 to £75,948 per annum (including discretionary) plus a competitive market supplement.
