Head of Enterprise Safe Practice and Culture

We are recruiting for a Head of Enterprise Safe Practice and Culture to join us at Octavius, working on the Southern Renewals Enterprise. The role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure the physical and mental health of our teams, promote safety and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.

The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) is accountable for the Southern Regions renewals programme and through collective expertise will develop, mobilise and deliver a £9 billion programme between 2024 – 2034.

You'll be working on developing and implementing strategies to ensure the physical and mental health of our teams, promote safety and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation. The Head of Enterprise Safe Culture and Practice will achieve success through transformational leadership skills that create and build a community of Safety Champions, bringing to life the SRE's vision of “Raising the bar for health, safety and wellbeing — one team, one goal: zero harm.”

Critically, they will fully engage and ensure our ecosystem supply chain is heard and bought in to creating an industry-leading place to work. You'll work with a team of highly motivated, dedicated professionals delivering projects within the Southern Renewal Enterprise and the wider Ecosystem of suppliers.

  • Data Analysis: Ability to understand programme wide information and deliver insightful and informative evidence to drive decisions.

You'll Bring…

  • Successful track record of delivering and managing Operational Change activities in major multi-billion-pound infrastructure projects in a leadership role.
  • Experienced in setting strategic and tactical standards, provide guidance, and monitor achievement of the standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of handling complex issues skillfully, strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify solutions to complex issues.
  • Well-developed leadership, communication, negotiating, influencing and interpersonal skills, with the drive and commitment to achieve programme wide objectives.
  • Client and supply chain programme leadership experience.
