Become part of the Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Events to join a high-performing events team within the global marketing function at PA. This 14-month maternity cover role focuses on the end-to-end delivery of key strategic events, provides guidance and maintains a best-in-class framework for PA’s global colleagues, and line-manages the events team.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Head of Events, ideally from a professional services background, to lead end-to-end event management for PA. The role requires extensive experience in both in-person and virtual event management, a proven track record of managing sponsorships, and delivering high-impact presence at third-party conferences and exhibitions. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior and C-suite leaders, and a commercial mindset to ensure events deliver commercial value. Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced environments are essential.
Key areas of responsibility
- Strategic leadership
- Lead the strategic planning, development and implementation of PA’s marketing events programme.
- Recommend innovative event strategies aligned to marketing campaign briefs, commercial and brand objectives.
- Provide strategic oversight across all PA marketing events, ensuring delivery excellence and measurable contribution to business goals.
- Team and stakeholder management
- Line manage and develop the events team, providing leadership, performance management and growth opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including partner level, offering expert guidance and influencing event decision-making.
- Develop strong relationships across the marketing function and with client-facing teams and centres of excellence.
- Represent the events function across the business, championing its value in a fast-paced, ideas-led environment.
- Event delivery and execution
- Plan and execute flagship and complex events, collaborating with event managers, sector marketers and consulting teams for seamless delivery.
- Personally lead the delivery of high-profile events when needed, managing logistics, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee PA’s presence at third-party conferences and exhibitions, including sponsorship activations, speaker coordination and on-the-ground execution.
- Ensure events are delivered to an exceptional standard, aligned with PA’s brand and strategic objectives.
- Operational excellence
- Develop and maintain best-practice documentation for firm-wide event planning and delivery.
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts where appropriate.
- Manage risk across events in compliance with PA’s policies and procedures.
- Commercial and financial management
- Develop and manage central and event-specific budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery and strong ROI.
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing to analyse event performance and inform future planning.
- Tools & systems
- Oversee management and use of Zoom webinar licenses and other platforms.
- Explore new technologies and tools that could enhance event delivery and engagement.
- Recommend innovative solutions aligned with PA’s forward-thinking approach to events.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of event management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in B2B event delivery, ideally in a professional services environment.
Additional information
Hybrid working is in effect; there is a minimum expectation of 2 days per week in the office or on client site, with variation by role.
