Ifopting for hybrid, we would need you to live within a reasonable commute of Aberdeen or Glasgow.**The Role**As a member of our Wider Leadership Team, reporting to our Head of Finance, you'll be responsible for takingownership of and improving the transactional finance functions (Billing and Credit Control, Treasury andPurchase Ledger) within our organisation. Alongside evaluating current processes, documenting procedures andimproving controls, you’ll manage and develop these functions ensuring that they are compliant, accurate andreliable.You'll also support our Head of Finance in the delivery of monthly management accounts, undertake varianceanalysis activities and support with the creation of budgets, forecasts and financial plans.As part of your role, there will be occasions that we'll need you to travel to other Cornerstone branch locations(travel expenses would be reimbursed as set out in Cornerstone’s expense policy with travel reimbursed by HMRClegislation).**About You**What we'll need you to bring: -* Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline* Recognised chartered accountancy CCAB qualification, qualified by experience (QBE) OR Working towards a CCAB with evidence of recent exam passes and expectation of qualification date* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of VAT, VAT reporting, cash handling and reconciling balance sheet control accounts* Experience of working in management accounts preparation/analysis* Attention to detail, delivering accurate, reliable and timely outputs* The ability to implement quality processes and procedures and communicate these clearly verbally and in writing* Comfortable learning new systems, developing and implementing new procedures and proposing solutions for problems with systems* Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan and organise work to tight deadlines* Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communication with team members* A minimum of 4 years’ experience of working in a varied finance role in a complex organisation.It would be great if you also have: -* Knowledge and experience of applicable regulations; specifically in line with the Charities Statement of Recommended Practise (SORP) reporting, FRS 102 and VAT* Experience of staff management and supervisionCornerstone is one of Scotland's largest charities with over 45 years' experience providing great care andsupport for adults and children with various support needs across Scotland.We are always flexible and responsive in meeting the ever changing needs of the people we support and work closelywith individuals and families to agree what sort of support will work best for them.**Our strategic aims*** To become an expert provider of services to people with learning disabilities, autism and complex care needs* To be the best employer in social care in Scotland* To achieve stability and sustainability which supports future developments.SLIC is seeking to recruit an experienced procurement officer to lead the end-to-end procurement process foracquiring web development, e-resources, and potentially library management system suppliers, for a nationalplatform serving Scotland's public libraries. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring value for money, compliance withregulations, and successful contract delivery in line with strategic objectives and user needs.**Job scope and context**The Scottish Library and Information Council carries out work on behalf of its members who include local authority,higher education, further education organisations, as well as other specialist library and informationorganisations. With support from the Scottish Government, SLIC have been tasked with the development anddelivery of a national website dedicated to providing comprehensive and accessible library services acrossScotland.
