Role Overview

Collective Ace is executing a buy and build (M&A) strategy in the video gaming industry. The company is seeking a Head of Finance to lead our Finance Team at the Group level. We are looking for an exceptionally strong financial leader to oversee all fiscal operations, ensure compliance across our Group entities and contribute to our capital strategy. A person in this position will be acting as a strategic partner to the CEO & Board and will be working closely with the Head of Controlling and Business Transformation to ensure smooth functioning of the Finance function.

Location: Remote work requiring in-person presence in Berlin and other European/US cities from time to time

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and drive the entire financial consolidation process, partnering with Head of Controlling & Business Transformation to ensure the integrity, timeliness, and IFRS compliance of all Group financial statements.
  • Own, coordinate and execute the annual audit process acting as the main point of contact and liaison for all external auditors together with the Head of Controlling & Business Transformation.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive the overall business strategy, assessing the financial feasibility and risk profile of new ventures, market entries, and expansion plans.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control systems, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory adherence across all jurisdictions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the global finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the entire accounting function (AR, AP, GL), ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles, providing the executive team with high-quality management accounts, variance analysis and actionable insights.
  • Manage the company's capital structure, banking relationships, and treasury functions, optimizing cash flow and ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and strategic investments.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all national and international tax obligations.
  • Own the company's compliance with all debt covenants, financial requirements and reporting requirements. This involves rigorous monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure continuous adherence and maintaining strong relationships with creditors and investors.
  • Support the execution of the M&A pipeline. This includes financial modeling, target valuation, due diligence, and orchestrating post-acquisition financial integration.
  • Support all financing activities, including the preparation, due diligence, and execution of future equity and debt fundraising rounds.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with existing investors and the broader investment community, ensuring clear, consistent, and compelling financial communication.

Qualifications

  • Currently serving in a CFO/Head of Finance role for a minimum of 3+ years along with prior progressive financial leadership experience, with a significant track record in a high-growth technology, SaaS, or B2B business (preferably in a PE/VC-backed environment).
  • Possesses a strong foundational background in accounting, preferably with an ACA/CPA/ACCA qualification and several years of experience gained at a Big Four or reputable audit firm.
  • Proven, in-depth experience managing the finance function for a multi-entity/international group structure, with demonstrated proficiency in consolidation, intercompany transaction elimination, and multi-currency reporting.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of IFRS and demonstrated ability to apply complex accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully executing M&A transactions (from valuation to integration) and leading debt/equity fundraising processes.
  • Deep knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling, valuation techniques, and advanced data analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication and presentation skills for executive and Board-level reporting.
