About the role

The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading the day‑to‑day financial management of Futurice, ensuring accurate reporting, operational efficiency, and effective financial controls. This role will also be pivotal in driving innovation within the finance function, leveraging advanced technologies and AI to enhance efficiency, performance, and strategic business support. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, this role is central to supporting the company’s growth trajectory, profitability goals, and compliance requirements across multiple geographies.

The Head of Finance will manage the finance function, including financial planning and analysis, group accounting, reporting, and business controlling. This position is ideal for an experienced finance leader who can balance hands‑on operational excellence with people leadership, while enabling the CFO/COO to focus on strategic, investor, and transformation initiatives.

Reports to: CFO/COO

Direct Reports: Finance team including Controllers, Accountants, and Analysts

Location: Flexible base in Finland, Germany or the UK, with ability to travel to other Futurice offices. Please kindly note that, at this time, we are unable to offer relocation opportunities, or we will need to be highly selective in considering such requests.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS/local GAAP.

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking across the Group and subsidiaries.

  • Ensure high‑quality management reporting and provide insights to support decision‑making.

Business Controlling & Partnering

  • Act as a partner to business unit leads by providing financial insights, KPIs, and recommendations to support data‑driven decisions, growth and profitability.

  • Monitor project and client profitability and drive value‑based performance improvements.

Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and strong internal controls, policies, and compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across operating geographies.

  • Safeguard the company’s financial stability and ensure cash flow, liquidity and working capital management to optimize financial resources and mitigate risk.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive efficiency and automation in finance processes, including the use of digital and AI‑driven tools.

  • Standardize KPIs, processes, and tools across markets to create one consistent financial language.

  • Ensure continuous improvement in finance operations, systems, and reporting.

  • Drive margin optimization, pricing discipline, and profitability analysis across clients and offerings.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to build a high‑performing, collaborative culture.

  • Strengthen the capabilities of business controllers and group finance teams, ensuring professional development and retention.

  • Establish scalable and agile finance operations to support the company’s international growth and evolving business needs.

Key Objectives

Short‑Term (6–12 months)

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of group reporting, forecasts, and budgets.

  • Strengthen internal financial controls and compliance frameworks.

  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders, providing impactful financial analysis.

  • Lead the integration of business controlling, financial controlling, and revenue management into a single, global finance setup.

  • Deploy real‑time financial cockpit for key metrics to allow business leaders proactively managing the business.

  • Support CFO in driving operational improvements in finance processes and tools.

Long‑Term (2–3 years)

  • Evolve finance function into a proactive, data‑driven business partner organization.

  • Enable scalability of finance operations as Futurice grows internationally.

  • Develop a next‑generation finance team with strong analytical, digital, and automation capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record in senior finance leadership roles (e.g., Head of Finance, Group Controller, or Finance Director) in an international, fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation, with experience managing multi‑country operations.

  • Experience in financial planning & analysis, business controlling, and finance transformation.

  • Hands‑on operational experience combined with ability to think strategically.

  • Familiarity with digital tools, automation, and data‑driven reporting solutions.

  • Familiarity and experience with Salesforce and Netsuit considered a merit.

Personal Characteristics

  • Analytical & Detail‑Oriented: Strong eye for accuracy and ability to turn data into actionable insights.

  • Collaborative Leader: Able to build strong relationships across business units and functions, with a proven ability to coach, lead, and develop a high‑performing Finance team.

  • Tech‑savvy: Proficient in leveraging AI and modern technological solutions to enhance financial efficiency, optimize performance, and strategically support business objectives.

  • Change‑Oriented: Comfortable driving improvements in processes and systems.

Education & Language

  • M.Sc. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent.

  • Fluent in English (other European languages a plus).

Compensation

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance‑based bonuses and additional benefits.
