As Head of Financial Planning and Reporting, you will report to the Commercial Finance Director and lead the Group FP&A function, ensuring robust decision‑making, performance monitoring, and resource optimisation across the organisation through high‑quality management reporting, forecasting and performance analysis.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Financial Planning and Reporting who is keen to own the generation of insights for strategic decision making. This is a unique opportunity to support the FP&A team with understanding how our resources are deployed and gives exposure to how all end‑to‑end business processes really work and how IG creates inspiring experiences for our clients.

Financial Analysis & Commercial Performance
- Direct comprehensive financial analysis of business performance, product profitability, and market opportunities to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement sophisticated KPI frameworks and performance dashboards that measure commercial effectiveness and drive accountability.
- Produce high‑quality, timely and insightful profitability analysis across multiple lenses (e.g. geography, client and product).
Investment Evaluation & Resource Optimization
- Ensure rigorous financial assessment, clarity on resource allocation and alignment with business objectives.
- Measure actual performance against projections for key initiatives and capture learnings for future decision‑making.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop a high‑performing Group FP&A team (headcount circa 4) through effective mentorship, talent development, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of analytical rigor, good quality reporting, strong processes and partnership with Finance that delivers value beyond traditional finance functions.
- Build capability in translating complex financial analysis into simple insights for business stakeholders.
Risk Management & Governance
- Ensure commercial decisions are supported by appropriate financial risk assessment and comply with governance requirements.
- Support frameworks for evaluating commercial opportunities against risk appetite and return expectations.
- Maintain integrity of commercial finance processes and reporting while enabling business agility.
Business Performance & Reporting
- Utilise financial analysis, top‑down modelling and external insights to identify areas to improve, clearly present business performance, challenge viability of plans/forecasts, and present insights to enable timely intervention.
- Ensure reporting is accurate and consistent within the group.
- Maintain active dialogue and strong working relationships with the other IG Group finance teams.
- Provide business performance insight to the Executive Committee and Board producing high‑quality, timely CFO board papers and supporting packs.
- Drive a data‑led, target‑driven culture while managing the cost base.

Required
- Extensive experience in FP&A roles, with at least 5 years in a senior position.
- Excellent analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
- Experience of FP&A in a complex organisation (ideally in financial services or technology).
- Deep understanding of financial systems and processes.
- Experience with financial transformation and systems implementation.
Preferred
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or MBA) with significant post‑qualification experience.
- Experience in highly commercial business‑to‑consumer, technology‑first organisations.
- Awareness of key dynamics of financial services, particularly trading, investment, or fintech sectors.
- Background in strategic finance, business partnering, or commercial analysis.
- Experience of leading and developing teams.
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools and advanced analytics techniques.
- Sound knowledge of a comparable business.
