Head of Geotech Engineering - Offshore Wind | Geotechnical Design Engineering - Offshore Wind Foundations - UK, Europe & Rest of World

Responsibilities

• Opportunity for Principal / Lead Geotechnical to play a leading role in the design of major offshore wind farms – Foundations design.
• Lead, participate and potentially manage projects from conceptual studies through to detailed design, and follow-up monitoring and assessment.
• Work in close relationship with clients, contractors and developers. Projects are varied and include the detailed design of offshore wind farms in UK and Europe.
• Collaborate with other departments and specialists to encourage innovation within the geotechnical field.
• Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary design team and manage daily demands with good organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Geotechnical/Civil or Structural Engineering/Geology/Engineering Geology.
• Essential: Experience in the Offshore/Marine engineering – Offshore wind; experience of geotechnical calculations; offshore foundation design experience (e.g., O&G, Wind or Marine).
• Essential: ~7 years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering with a relevant engineering education and strong discipline knowledge.
• Desirable: Geotechnics, structures, and dynamics of offshore foundations (Wind).
• Desirable: Foundation design software (GRLWEAP, OPile, PLAXIS, LPile).
• Desirable: GIS; Geophysical; Chartered Engineer or progressing towards Chartered status.
• Desirable: Ability to lead/mentor engineers; experience with advanced calculation models and FE-modelling.
