Head of Health & Safety Contract: Full-time, Permanent Location: Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield (Hybrid flexible, 3 days in office/travel to sites) Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + car allowance Be the Driving Force Behind Safety Excellence at Dignity. Dignity is seeking a qualified, visionary Head of Health & Safety to join our Property Team, a role that is absolutely pivotal to our ongoing success and operational integrity. Strategic Influence: You’ll set the direction for health and safety across the entire property portfolio, working closely with senior leaders and shaping policies that make a real difference. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of dedicated H&S professionals, empowering them to deliver best‑in‑class safety outcomes. Continuous Improvement: Champion a proactive, solutions‑focused approach—analysing data, driving innovation, and embedding a culture of learning and accountability. Operational Impact: Your work will directly reduce incidents, improve wellbeing, and ensure Dignity remains a leader in compliance and risk management.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a senior health and safety leadership role, ideally in a multi‑site or complex operational environment. In‑depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice. A track record of driving cultural change, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) essential; further qualifications (NVQ Level 5/6, IOSH Trainer, IIRSM membership) are a plus. Outstanding communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
