Join to apply for the Head of Health & Safety role at Ardent Advisors. This leadership position works closely with the Director to shape and deliver health, safety, and wellbeing strategy across our South operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of health, safety and wellbeing policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provide senior leadership and oversight to the health, safety and wellbeing team, supporting their development and performance.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and accountability in health, safety and wellbeing across all operational areas.
  • Oversee escalated incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is conducted fairly and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to influence and embed health and safety priorities across the business.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance, using data and insights to inform decision‑making and drive improvements.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring health, safety and wellbeing considerations are fully integrated.
  • Promote diversity, equality and inclusion within health, safety and wellbeing practices and across the wider team.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in a senior health and safety leadership role, preferably within the utilities or construction sector. A NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma (or equivalent) is required. Strong interpersonal skills, incident investigation and report writing experience, and a practical understanding of diversity, equality and inclusion are essential. Fluency in written and spoken English, confidence presenting to varied audiences, analytical mindset, empathy, professionalism and integrity are all valued.

A full UK driving licence is essential. The role covers the South East and South, with flexible location and significant travel to sites such as Southern Water, South East Water and South West Water.

Location & Salary

Harefield, United Kingdom – Up to £85,000 per annum.
