Job Description
INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY
2 Year Fixed term contract/ Secondment opportunity
Ref: HOS38
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our Housing Options and Humanitarian Response Service at a time of significant change across Hertfordshire. This is a new role, bringing together our homelessness, housing register (allocations), and humanitarian response functions under one head of service. You will provide a high-quality, front-line strategic service focused on statutory homelessness, housing allocations, and humanitarian support.
You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, ensuring services are delivered effectively and compassionately to those in housing need. As part of our Housing Improvement Transformation Programme (HTIP), you will work closely with the Assistant Director to improve the customer experience by reviewing the customer journey, informing future delivery and service design.
You will play a key role in aligning our services with the future delivery model, as Hertfordshire transitions from a two-tier system to a single-tier structure (unitary). This is a unique opportunity to influence how housing services are shaped across the county. As well as an opportunity to work with the residents of Dacorum to ensure their voices influence service delivery.
You will be required to ensure effective management of complex cases, lead service development projects, and work with internal and external partners to ensure our services are responsive, compliant, and forward-thinking. You will also contribute to strategic planning and policy development, ensuring our approach reflects best practice and meets the needs of our communities.
An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.
The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.
