Turning Point is a leading health and social care provider committed to making a difference in people’s lives. We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of HR Operations to join our People Leadership Team during an exciting period of transformation.

• Fixed-term contract (18 months)
• Location: Manchester (remote work with occasional office days and site visits)

Why this role?

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to backfill our substantive Head of HR Operations while they lead the implementation of our new HR Information System. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and strengthening our HR operational foundations, with a strong emphasis on legal and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Lead

• People Services – ensuring exceptional service delivery and process efficiency
• Payroll – overseeing accurate and timely processing of a complex and variable payroll
• Employee Relations – managing complex cases and ensuring fair, consistent practices
• Recruitment – leading strategies to attract high volume recruitment

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure robust compliance with employment law, regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
• Oversee risk management across HR operations, embedding strong controls and assurance processesLead and inspire operational teams to deliver high-quality, efficient services that meet stakeholder expectations and provide a good colleague and manager experience
• Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement, leveraging technology and automation where possible
• Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations cases, ensuring consistency and fairness
• Monitor and report on compliance, risk, and operational performance to senior stakeholders

About You

• Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role within a complex organisation
• Deep knowledge of employment law, compliance frameworks and HR governance
• Strong track record in managing risk and resolving complex employee relations issues
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands‑on operational leadership
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
